About

I grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, a town known for its tornadoes and the resilience of the people there. After graduating nursing school, I moved to Tulsa to begin working as a Registered Nurse in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care. While living there, I traveled to Colorado to go on my first hiking and camping trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. That trip changed my life forever.

I continued to visit different places in pursuit of the outdoors. With one of the best children's hospitals and access to everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer, it didn't take me long to choose Seattle, and I moved there in 2015. The sights there always took my breath away, leaving me recharged and filled with a sense of peace. I wanted to share that experience with friends and family, so I bought a basic camera to take along with me. As my passion for the outdoors grew, so did my passion for nature photography.

Then, in late 2016, my step-father was diagnosed with cancer. I left Seattle and went back to Oklahoma to be with my family for 6 months. When I returned to Seattle in the summer of 2017, I decided to invest in a nicer camera and take some time off in between going back to work to travel and photograph nature.

When my step-father passed away at the end of 2019, I moved back to Oklahoma to be with family. With the onset of the pandemic, I decided to take a break from photography and focus on the difference I could make in healthcare. When my 5 year old dog, who is my best friend and hiking buddy, was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2021, we moved to where he could get the best care and we could get back to the outdoors. As fate would have it, that happened to be Colorado, where my hiking journey began.
